Forward a Google Workspace address to Bosun
Recommended route: a group with forwarding, or default routing for a single address. Both keep Gmail exactly as it is and only add a copy to Bosun.
Route A — the address is already a group (info@, hello@)
Open
admin.google.comand go to Directory → Groups, then open the group.Under Members, choose Add members and add your Bosun ingest address (shown in Bosun during setup, e.g.
in-8f3a2c94@in.usebosun.com).Go to Group settings → Posting policies and confirm Publish posts allows external members to receive mail.
Send yourself a test email to the group address.
Route B — the address is a normal mailbox
In
admin.google.com, go to Apps → Google Workspace → Gmail → Routing.Under Default routing, choose Add another rule and match the single recipient (your shared address).
Choose Add more recipients and add the Bosun ingest address. Leave the original delivery in place so Gmail keeps a copy.
Save. Routing changes can take up to an hour, usually minutes.
Careful: Personal-Gmail-style forwarding (Settings → Forwarding in the mailbox itself) sends Google a verification email first. That verification lands in Bosun — open the thread and click the confirmation link, or the forward silently never starts.
Check it worked: Bosun's setup screen watches live for the first forwarded email. Send a test to your shared address; the screen flips to “arrived” within a few seconds of Google delivering it.
Still not working?
Check the group allows external members (Route A) or that the routing rule says “Add more recipients” rather than “Change envelope recipient” (Route B). If Google reports a bounce, search the exact error text — our fixes index covers the common ones.
